A selection of movies and documentaries by Black filmmakers that document and celebrate the struggles and triumphs of Black and Third World peoples, will be screened.

African Americans and Americans of various denominations are concerned about African American images in electronic media.  Often these images are portrayed stereotypically in American hegemonic culture reflecting degradation, squalor, poverty, drugs, while ignoring the redeeming power, inspiration and uplifting spiritual values that surely exist.  The Bronzeville film Festival is designed to experience a balance of stories and programs that are professional, creative, relevant, pro-social motion pictures and video programs made by Africans Americans or feature African American issues or themes.
