The Bronzeville Book Fair has as its mission to promote literature written for, by and about African American and Third World people. The Fair will encourage literacy; provide citizens with a means to exchange thoughts and ideas; and stimulate thinking and the articulation these thoughts. This three-day outdoor event in Chicago's Bronzeville, in conjunction with the established Bronzeville Film Festival, will shine a spotlight upon the rich literary and artistic history of the Black community.

The Bronzeville Book Fair program consists of selling and exhibiting books; introducing authors to the Festival visitors by conversations about their work as well as book signings; symposiums on various topics led by writers and intellectuals with audience participation; convening workshops on writing and reading; and the spoken word will be shared by storytellers and poets. This Book Fair will bring together writers and celebrities from all over the nation.

The Bronzeville Book Fair will hold set up on Thursday, June 19, with a preview and opening reception beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, June 20, hours will be 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday, June 21, hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the Bronzeville Cultural Festival gala following at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 22, hours will be 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Tent rental is included in vendor's fee. Spaces are 10 x 10. Stand-alone tents are $350. 10 x10 Space in larger tents is $200. Spaces include an 8-foot table and 2 chairs. Half table is $100. Security and sanitation will be provided.

Third World Press, one of the nation's oldest and most highly respected African American book publishing houses will anchor the event.
